TNSWSP Reviews Progress and Launches Next Phase of Implementation
The Trade National Single Window System Project (TNSWSP) successfully conducted a Progress Review Meeting with key stakeholders on 02 June 2026 at the Ruby Hall, BMICH, Colombo, marking another important milestone in Sri Lanka’s journey towards digital trade facilitation.
The event brought together representatives from 20 participating government agencies, five chambers of commerce, trade associations, traders, development partners, and other key stakeholders to review project progress and discuss the next phase of implementation.
The workshop provided an important platform to update stakeholders on the progress of the Trade National Single Window (TNSW) initiative and discuss upcoming activities that will further strengthen Sri Lanka’s trade facilitation landscape.
The session commenced with welcome remarks by Dr. Issadeen Adambawa, BPM Specialist of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU). Delivering the opening remarks, Ms. Ishani J. Abeyratne, Director General of the Department of Trade and Investment Policy (DTIP), emphasized the importance of stakeholder collaboration in achieving the project's objectives. The Project Director, Mr. Neelakanth Wanninayake, presented the current status of project implementation, highlighting key milestones achieved to date and outlining the roadmap for the next phase of activities.
A key feature of the event was the demonstration of the National Single Window (NSW) Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by the System Development Team. The presentation provided stakeholders with a firsthand view of the system’s development progress, key functionalities, and upcoming deliverables, generating valuable discussion and feedback.
The programme also introduced the upcoming Business Process Reengineering (BPR) assignment, outlining its objectives, implementation timeline, and the support expected from participating government agencies. In addition, stakeholders received an update on the development of the overarching legal framework required to facilitate the implementation and operation of the National Single Window System. The presentation highlighted the purpose, scope, expected outcomes, and timeline of the legislative initiative.
Another significant component of the programme was the initiation of the Change Management and Capacity Building (CM&CB) Strategy. Through an interactive workshop session and stakeholder questionnaire, participants shared their perspectives and insights, contributing to the development of a comprehensive change management strategy that will support user adoption and institutional readiness.
The event concluded with a panel discussion and interactive question-and-answer session, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with project representatives and subject matter experts. The discussions reinforced the importance of continued collaboration among all stakeholders in achieving the project's objectives.
The TNSWSP extends its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders,
partners, and participants for their continued commitment and valuable
contributions towards establishing a modern, efficient, and integrated National
Single Window System for Sri Lanka. Through sustained collaboration and
innovation, the project continues to advance the country's trade facilitation
agenda and strengthen its competitiveness in the global trading environment.
